Console Games to Look Forward to This Christmas
Christmas is just around the horizon, and every year it will come with a full crew of games that will have players of all ages count the days until the holiday season. While some titles such as Halo: Reach will be out in September, and other titles like Rockstar's Max Payne 3 will not arrive before New Year, there are some excellent titles which should hit shelves just in time to make the perfect gift
Call of Duty: Black Ops (Xbox 360, PS3)
The ongoing series returns with both a single player campaign that during the Cold War and new multiplayer modes. For the first time the franchise will have an offline multiplayer mode bot called Combat Training, where you can practice and groom your skills before you go online. A focus condition will also be introduced where you can play Call of Duty points on matches, the top three players split the winnings. All new weapons adjustments have been implemented as well. You can make your targeting reticule to a smiling face, and keep custom decals on your weapon. Tier 1 perks will allow you to customize your player to give him a unique look.
Fable III (Xbox 360)
Peter Molyneux is often mocked in the gaming community for his belief that in Fable you can do anything but realistic players that look more like a mantra game strives instead of a literal fact. True innovation happens slowly and gradually, and Fable has always been about trying new ideas. In Fable III, Molyneux hopes to eliminate some of the clunkiness of traditional RPGs by removing many of the menu functions and rely on the game universe to change your weapons and clothing. While Fable series has never been as good as Bioware titles to let the election affect the main story has Fable III always been more a sandbox game than a true RPG, and those are the features that have customers waiting for his release
Fallout: New Vegas (Xbox 360, PS3)
Set three years after the events in Fallout 3, lights and desert wastelands should add a perfect backdrop for this post-apocalyptic odyssey. The game is being developed by the good folks at Obsidian Entertainment, many of whom worked for Black Isle Studios on the original Fallout game and sequel. The recommendation would add some life to boring, bland brown landscape of Fallout 3 while maintaining a large part of jazzy charm mutant Tussle, and life-altering decisions that make Bethesda a leading publisher of open world gaming.
